Dear BLOCKv Community,
The last few months have been very busy at BLOCKv and we want to provide you with an update on all the exciting work taking place. With this post encompassing the last three months, we are beginning a new series of monthly updates.
We successfully raised 71,997 ETH, generated and distributed our VEE tokens, established partnerships with major organizations introducing the power of smart virtual goods on blockchain and most importantly built an incredible community of supporters! We are continuing our hard work on all these fronts as well as the release of our developer platform, redesigning our brand messaging and scaling of our organization.

Strategic Partnerships to showcase vAtoms:
MegaFon
BLOCKv partnered with MegaFon (one of the largest telecom companies in Russia) to deliver an augmented reality treasure hunt for a chance to win tickets to the sold out grand tour concert of Leningrad band in Moscow as part of a corporate sponsorship engagement. Read more here.
Zurich Open Air 2017
The BLOCKv platform was used to create an interactive and engaging event experience for attendees of Zurich Open Air festival. The self-serve mixer not only added an experiential component to the event but showcased the novel and innovative way of consumer brands engaging with their customers. Read more here.
Viktre
In January 2018, BLOCKv partnered with VIKTRE, an online platform for pro athletes, helping celebrity athletes raise funds to restore power to Puerto Rico. BLOCKv’ platform provides a viral method to increase awareness of the campaign through a contest using a reward vAtom.
Development Partnerships:
Following our successful TGE, we have received an amazing amount of inbound interest for vAtoms. The core of our business remains our developer platform. But we are excited to continue to work on developing vAtoms for early partners and show new use cases. As part of this initiative and in order to serve a growing list of potential partners, we have added two new development firms to our platform. DMI and Venture Aviator will be working with commercial partners in helping to create vAtoms and manage the launch of innovative projects to showcase vAtoms and the power of the BLOCKv platform.
Roadmap
For our Q1 milestone, we are working on the release of a beta-version of our BLOCKv-platform together with a developer-portal, which will be open to a (in the first step) limited group of developers. We will explain the way on how you subscribe to be one of the first developers to opt in in a separate blog post. The platform will be beta, so will be subject to change when API calls and data structures are concerned, but will still provide a working version of the first building blocks according to what we had promised and outlined in our whitepaper. It will come with a first set of user-friendly tools and documentation to onboard individual developers along with business units interested in creating company specific vAtoms. This project is not a small task, but we are working hard to deliver a functioning version of the portal by the end this quarter. Included in the toolkit will also be a wallet (viewer) API, SDKs for Android and iOS as well as additional documentation in Github, a knowledge base and mechanisms for technical support.
The BLOCKv Q1, 2018 Beta Release of the platform for developers and vAtom publishers includes:
- Initial set of platform APIs
- Publisher integration, including support to use VEE for paying the lifecycle of published vAtoms
- The Blockchain abstraction for writing state, ownership and transaction ledgers to Ethereum
- Multiple customer support channels including chat, knowledge base, FAQ
This first milestone will allow you to design, code and publish vAtoms on an already scalable platform.
Event Participation
Developers are at the core of our business and platform and we have been busy touring the world participating at conferences, events and meetups to continue building amazing relationships that will help unleash the power of our platform to the world at large. Here are a few of the events we participated in over the past few months:
BlockCon
Reeve Collins spoke at the BlockCon event in Santa Monica, CA and BLOCKv had a booth that was bustling with excitement. The event was oversubscribed and the venue was packed, which made for a busy couple of days networking and forming partnerships. Watch Reeve’s presentation here.
Hybrid Summit in Macau, China
Reeve Collins spoke at the Hybrid Summit and shared with the attendees that the most important thing is that they simply begin to get involved in the blockchain space. Those who are entering the ecosystem for the first time right now are still early to the party. You can watch his presentation here.
TNABC
The North American Bitcoin Conference was a great success for BLOCKv. Many members of the blockchain community heard our CEO present on-stage and the BLOCKv booth was busy all day every day of the conference. You can watch his presentation here.
Abundance 360
A360 was a highlight for the BLOCKv team. We had an opportunity to showcase vAtoms in a number of different ways during the conference, the booth was busy with interest from some of the world’s most innovative entrepreneurs and our CEO, Reeve Collins, spoke with Peter Diamandis on-stage about the BLOCKv platform. Conclusion
There is a lot going on here at BlockV. We are now in a rapid expansion phase that includes opening new offices, scaling our team and hiring more talented developers, project managers, product managers, designers, finance, HR and an entire marketing department to bring our vision to the world. In addition to the continuous efforts to build more partnerships and showcase the power of our platform and vAtoms, we are also in the midst of a brand redesign, a new website and all new messaging around vAtoms and the BLOCKv platform — all to be released by the end of Q2, 2018.
