Abundance 360

Abundance 360 is Peter Diamandis’ annual keystone event attended by successful entrepreneurs, business executives and leaders. Attendees are selected for attendance through an application process to ensure the audience is highly curated. Presentations and discussions at A360 focus on exponential technologies and the impact they’ll have on the world. A small number of qualified companies are invited to participate in the Tech Hub to show off cutting edge technologies. BLOCKv was invited as a Tech Hub participant and event partner. Our CEO, Reeve Collins, also presented BLOCKv to the full group of attendees while on stage with Peter during a Tech Demo session.

As a technology partner of A360, we were able to showcase the power of vAtoms in a couple different ways. Attendees received a gift box vAtom that when opened, presented the attendees with three new vAtoms.

Each attendee then had a ticket redeemable for entry to the event, a gift card vAtom redeemable for a physical gift card and a hat vAtom that was redeemable for an A360 branded sweater and hat.

Attendees were excited to be using a new technology and A360 was able to provide attendees with a brand new experiential layer to the event.

vAtoms were also used as business cards for members of the BLOCKv team. When asked for a card, team members instructed attendees to scan the badge of the team member to receive the business card vAtom. Receiving a virtual business card by simply scanning a name badge was a highlight for many attendees.

The conference was an amazing experience for us. Our exhibit booth located in the Tech Hub experienced heavy traffic. Attendees were excited to learn more about the technology and to discuss possible partnerships. The challenge now is deciding how to allocate resources as we receive more and more partnership opportunities.

The North American Bitcoin Conference

By contrast, The North American Bitcoin Conference was a much larger affair than Abundance 360 with over 4000 attendees. Both Reeve Collins and Drew Yacu were in attendance, Reeve busy preparing another speech for the attendees and Drew manning the booth at the exhibitor hall.

The booth was hot both days with many people already knowing who BLOCKv is. They came from all over the country to find out what the next phase of Blockchain is, and what’s next in store for BLOCKv. A number of other attendees were familiar with blockchain, but not what the purpose of the BLOCKv protocol is. Drew shared his analogies to technology of what most are familiar with and came up with a rudimentary analogy.

Blockchain is a complex protocol and requires a significant degree of developer knowledge to build upon a blockchain. BLOCKv seeks to reduce that barrier to entry through a protocol layer that sits between blockchains. A wrapper — called a vAtom — is the intelligent object that users build on top of the BLOCKv interface layer that can be written to any blockchain. We’re taking the Blockchain to the world and in order to do that it must be:

  • Fast
  • Scalable
  • Cost Effective
  • Simple

The last group were completely new to blockchain and eager to learn. Overall, we had more amazing conversations than we ever expected. Getting people excited to build on the platform is taking on a new form as we generate more reach through great conferences like TNABC. See you next year!
