Blockchain seems to be the central theme of technological discussions and disruption. In the last month alone, a number of conferences, including two of the largest ones — Consensus and Crypto Hybrid Summit — gathered over 100,000 attendees who are developing in the space, investing or are simply interested in learning. The excitement in the air is undeniable. We, at BLOCKv, are happy to not only see the space mature but also lead the creation of opportunities for developers looking to build on blockchain technology.

Here’s what the month of May brought us:

Partnerships:

High Fidelity / Virtual Reality Blockchain Alliance

BLOCKv has partnered with High Fidelity, the open-source distributed VR platform, and joined the Virtual Reality Blockchain Alliance (VRBA). High Fidelity’s technology allows to create and share VR experiences with remarkable features like High Fidelity 3D Audio, Imperceptible Latency, Content Marketplace, Live Collaboration Editing, and many more. This partnership will significantly improve interoperability for Virtual Reality and better connect virtual and real worlds.

Just imagine, vAtoms, created on BLOCKv platform, easily transferred to virtual environments with High Fidelity, or content, created inside High Fidelity, exported to BLOCKv platform in form of vAtoms. Read full press release here:

Roadmap:

Platform & Portal:

We are continuously working on simplifying the developers’ interaction with our platform.

We are excited to announce the release of ‘Try-It Lab’ feature as part of the Developer Portal update. The ‘Try-It Lab’ allows developers to execute our APIs from within the portal environment. Additionally, the Lab offers multi-user profile management, automatic user access_token refresh, and call history capabilities. This feature not only streamlines the developer toolset but also reduces the complexity and the effort it takes to make successful API calls. All-in-all, the developers can now build templates and emit vAtoms faster than before.

In addition to the ‘Try-It Lab’ feature, we have also added more documentation and a tutorial on creating vAtoms on Ethereum. You can find the tutorial here.

In the coming weeks, we will release details and step-by-step instructions for all the ‘Try-It Lab’ capabilities on the Developer Portal.

We are also continuing with developer applications review and on-boarding to the beta platform. Request access to our platform here.

Block Producer App Coalition:

BLOCKv joined forces with Workcoin, SpringRole, and White Rabbit in the formation of Block Producer App Coalition (BPAC) — a candidate for being an EOS Block Producer.

BPAC aims to create an environment to develop the developers. This is a huge undertaking and responsibility and we look forward to being part of the 21 Block Producers that will grow the EOS ecosystem and fuel innovation further. As you may be familiar, the process to become a Block Producer is driven by community votes and we are hopeful to gain the community support. BPAC is a strong and diverse team of EOS application developers representing the stakeholder community of EOS developers. The team is well positioned to support the community and add long term value from our shared knowledge and expertise. Read the full announcement here.

Introducing our New CMO

We are thrilled to announce the latest addition to the BLOCKv Team — our new Chief Marketing Officer: Michael Dobak. Prior to BLOCKv, Michael was the CEO at Ogilvy & Mather West and South, one of the largest marketing communications agencies in the world.

With extensive experience in advertising, integrated marketing, brand management and digital marketing strategy, Michael is the perfect fit to help grow the BLOCKv platform to new heights and attract a broader user base.

Michael’s work was crucial to the success of major global marketing campaigns such as IBM Smarter Planet and IBM Watson. IBM Smarter Planet brought the company to the forefront of the Internet Of Things and Watson established IBM as a leader in cognitive computing. Michael was also behind the iconic Flo from Progressive, which turned the insurance giant into a relatable brand.

Please join us in welcoming Michael to the team.

As always, thank you for your continued support!
